On Monday the 19th of October, close to one third of Norfolk Island's population gathered at the largest venue that could hold the crowd - Norfolk Island Airport - to see their new brand and celebrate a new direction in local tourism. Tourism makes up 90% of the local economy, so a topic that is very close to the locals' hearts. Norfolk Island Minister for Tourism, Geoff Gardner, noted that it was the biggest community turnout he'd ever witnessed on the Island. Norfolk Island Tourism will be launching the brand to Australian media on the 26th of October and to New Zealand media on the 4th of November. Departure Media recently unveiled the new Brookgreen Gardens and Jack Thompson Photography exhibits at the Myrtle Beach International Airport. The Brookgreen Gardens exhibit, entitled Mountain Fishing, depicts a life-size mountain lion bronze sculpture in its natural habitat. The lion was a gift to Brookgreen in 2006 from James and Mary Flagg Haugh of Fayetteville, N.C. The concept of the mountain lions natural habitat is exemplified by the use of native and exotic plants adapted to the South Carolina coastal climate. Norfolk Island Pines provide height and horizontal movement in the background of the sculpture, while Angel Wing Begonia, Maidenhair Fern, Sweet Potato Vine and Bromeliad are used to create color, texture and pattern. Sago Palm, Fountain Grass, Variegated Dracaenas and El...

Cole Albert Porter (1891 – 1964) was an American composer and songwriter. Born to a wealthy family in Indiana, he defied the wishes of his domineering grandfather and took up music as a profession. Classically trained, he was drawn towards musical theatre. After a slow start, he began to achieve success in the 1920s, and by the 1930s he was one of the major songwriters for the Broadway musical stage. Unlike many successful Broadway composers, Porter wrote the lyrics, as well as the music, for his songs. COLE PORTER SONGS: Easy To Love, Just One Of Those Things, Begin The Beguine, Night & Day (John Norman Chorale), I Get A Kick Out Of You (Percy Faith), I’ve Got You Under My Skin (101 Strings & The Alshire Singers), You’d Be So Easy To Love (101 Strings), You Do Something To Me (101 Strin...
